Miilux OY introduces steel armor products to the world stage



Steel producer Miilux OY showcased its steel armor products, manufactured in western Turkey, at the EuroSatory defense industry event in Paris.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, the company is presenting armored steel solutions manufactured in Manisa province to global customers on the world stage for the first time.

The international exhibition for the land and air defense and security sectors started on Monday and will continue until Friday.

Formerly Finnish-owned, the majority shares of Miilux OY were acquired by Turkish pension fund OYAK in 2019.

The company meets Turkey’s high strength requirements for steel products, including armor steel, without the need for external resources.

Among its products on display at the event were the Miilux Protection 280T, which is preferred for armored vehicle designs such as battle tanks, as well as the blast-resistant Miilux Protection 440T, which is used on side walls and armored vehicle floors.

The company was also showcasing Miilux Protection 500T, a material for castings of armored vehicles, such as their side walls, roof and turret, and Miilux Protection 600T, which is preferred by armored vehicle manufacturers due to its malleability to be shaped into existing structures. designs for complementary and stand-alone seamless-twisting purposes.

Yavuz Yeldan, general manager of Miilux OY Türkiye, said the company will use new sales, promotion and research opportunities for the global market, as well as cooperation with relevant companies, within the framework of the event.

He said that with factories in Finland and Poland, the company has the opportunity to meet Turkey’s needs for steel armor products with national plates.

“With the domestic armor steel production facility established by OYAK in Manisa, we have achieved a position to take a share of the European market,” he said.

With the production of steel armor, which had not been produced in Turkey before, the company not only strengthened sector development, but also took an important step to reduce foreign dependence in the defense industry. Turkish.

At EuroSatory, the company had the opportunity to exhibit its products in the global market for the first time, Yeldan noted.

“As Miilux OY Türkiye, we continue to work mainly on domestic demand, however, our export-oriented activities are not slowing down.”

Initially, the company plans to increase the share of its wear-resistant steel product group in the export market, he said, adding that in the coming period , it aims to double the annual production capacity of its Manisa plant based on market demand.
