PAR Technology Corporation (NYSE: PAR) today announced that the US Navy has awarded its subsidiary, Rome Research Corporation (RRC), a five-year, $ 15.2 million contract to provide operational support and uninterrupted maintenance (O&M) at the Global Information Grid (GIG) in Lago Patria and in Sicily, Italy. RRC is a leading provider of operations and maintenance services for large satellite gateways providing interconnectivity to all facets of the Department of Defense (DoD) and has supported the installation of Lago Patria since 2005.
The Naval Satellite Communications Facility – Lago Patria is a leading DoD satellite gateway site supporting a global network of information, process and personnel capabilities. The facility supports the collection, processing, storage, dissemination, and management of on-demand information for use by military commanders, policymakers, and support personnel. The facility supports wartime and peacetime strategic, operational, tactical, and commercial functions covering U.S. DoD, national security, and related intelligence community missions. In addition, it provides interfaces to coalition, allied and non-DoD users and systems around the world.
In Lago Patria and other locations, RRC technical staff support commercial and military satellite communications systems (SATCOM). For this project, RRC will apply its great expertise in multiband systems operating from 300 MHz to 300 GHz. The RRC will perform operations and maintenance tasks on various baseband equipment and land transport systems serving deployed tactical and strategic users. RRC’s expertise includes mission planning, activation, engineering and low-level circuit installation and includes Critical Communications Security (COMSEC) support.
