SAN ANTONIO – A US Army soldier from Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston was found dead at the base on Friday evening, JBSA officials said.

CPS. Craig Boylston, a 38-year-old Army Reserve member who was on active duty training at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, was found in his car outside his accommodation in post, officials said.

Boylston, originally from El Paso, had been in the military for over 11 years. He had been assigned to the training brigade of the Medical Center of Excellence since March as a dental specialist.

Boylston received several awards and decorations during his military service. Officials said they were working to support this family during this time.

“Cp. Boylston was a valued member of our military family, ”said Col. Wesley Anderson, commander of the 32nd Medical Brigade. “As we work together on this loss as an organization, our main goal is to make sure Craig’s family receives the support they will need during this extremely difficult time. “
